The Life I Desire

Where I currently stand:

I spend 40+ hours each week working for a company that I can no longer respect.  I have been employed by this company for more than fifteen years.  Over the past five, I have seen knee-jerk reactions that have cost our unit a significant amount of damage.  About six months ago, I decided that I needed to start working on “Plan B.”

“Plan A” is my daily job that is required to fund my everyday necessities (i.e. shelter, food, clothes, etc).

“Plan B” is the job I want to do everyday that currently does not produce enough funds to take care of my family.

I started writing a novel about three years ago.  I considered myself a weekend warrior as weekdays were filled with work and family.  As a mother of two, I don’t have a lot of free time to do the things I enjoy.  Living paycheck to paycheck doesn’t help to check things off of the bucket list either.

My goal within the next five years is to turn my weekend hobby as a writer into a full time career.  I understand this will not be an easy task.  It is going to take a lot of hard work and time to achieve my goal.  But anything is possible as long as it is the Lord’s will.

Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.    Proverbs 4:26
