June. The month of rain and heat. June has yielded some fond memories. I was able to spend a lot of quality time with my hubby and my teens this month. During vacation week, I worked on my garden, my work-in-progress book (the sequel to The Curse of Judas) and played a lot of Elder Scrolls Online. Overall, I had a great month.

But before we get into the nitty gritty….don’t forget to pin me!

Level 10 Life First Quarter Goals

  • Go on a date once a month—Restaurants are finally opening back up! Yeah!!!!! Hubby and I went to eat at Panchos Mexican Restaurant and Tokyo Sushi Bar.
  • Watch a movie together once a month—-we watched the Avatar series on Netflix as a family. There are not many shows that the whole family agrees on, but this anime is one that we all love.
  • Go on a vacation together this year…..currently saving up money so we can do this. I’m a bit on the fence about this goal. With the pandemic in full swing, I really don’t want to expose myself or my kids more than I have to.

  • Go on a date once per quarter with kids—instead of a date this month, we spent time together by going grocery shopping and cooking dinner together. We had a lot of fun.
  • Go on an outing once per quarter—the ban on travel has started to lift, but I am not ready to chance it just yet.

  • Finish reading the old testament—so far I have read through the Song of Solomon. I am going to try and finish Isaiah during July
  • Journal, Journal, Journal—Journaling is a good way for me to relax my mind and get all the thoughts out of my head. With all that is going on in the world and my ever-growing to-do list, journaling has kept me sane this month.

Blog Goals

Posts for June: I finished been on the fence about what to read after finishing The Air Awakens Series. I did read two books that held my attention. You can check out all of my book reviews on my page Book Reviews by Cynthia.

June Posts

Book Review: Stolen by Shadows (Into the Labyrinth Book 1) by Evelyn Avery

Izzy is just a typical off her meds college student with a passion for theatre. Since young, she would dream of another world full of wonder and fear. She talked about the Erlking and the creatures of this world as if they actually existed. She would soon find out that not all dreams are figments of the imagination.

June Bullet Journal

June Bullet Journal Set Up

June is the sixth month of the year. It is a time of reflection and redirection. This month you evaluate what you have accomplished, rethink your goals, and plan for next half of the year.

The Hades Trials by Eliza Raine and Rose Wilson

Book Review: The Power of Hades (The Hades Trials Book 1) by Eliza Raine and Rose Wilson

Persephone is a plant loving college student just trying to make a living. She scrapes by working as a barista on campus. Her life was normal, routine and boring until one fateful afternoon when a way too hot to look at guy walked into the store and tried to hit on her.

Writing Goals

  • Work on rewrite for Forbidden— I have ignored this series this month and focused on the Repentant Son.
  • Finish editing chapter 4, 5, and 6 of the Repentant Son—Chapters 1 through 5 are officially in the final draft. I am happy how they have turned out so far. My goal is to finish the next three chapters in July and have them in the final draft as well.
The Revenant City Series Book 1

Shows I’ve Watched

  • The Legend of Jinyan: This drama is airing from the middle of July through August. So far, I am loving the main actress. She and the main lead are adorable together.
  • The Romance of Tiger and Rose: This drama has Zhao Lu Si, one of my favorite actresses that acts more on the funny side rather than serious. The main storyline is comical from beginning to end. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next.
  • Monarch: The Eternal King: I have started watching this series on Netflix. At first, I didn’t know if I was going to like it, but I have found myself falling in love with Lee Minho all over again. He was the actor that made me fall in love with K-dramas to begin with.

Other Bullets That Weren’t Bullets

I did a lot of reflection prompts this month. Writing with the phases of the moon has been enlightening. I plan on continuing the practice through July. I worked in the garden a lot. It is in full swing right now with all the rain and heat. So far, I have put away a gallon of blueberries, 10lbs or more of squash and zucchini, and 1lb of carrots (for the rabbit). My tomatoes are getting bigger but they are not turning red as of yet.

I am trying my hand at being an amateur herbalist this year. I have harvested and dried elder flowers, rose hips, hibiscus, and rose petals. I hope to make my own soul-tea blend for the winter months—or a nice herbal wine.

A Review of My June BUJO Doodles

June’s creativity led me to an adventure notebook with a RPG feel. The concept was fun to draw out, but it didn’t work out for me as well as I thought it would. I didn’t use my bujo as much as I should have for June. I could have been a lot more productive than I was if I’d stuck to a list rather than an RPG.

In Summary

June hasn’t been as productive as it could have been. Now that we are 6 months through the year, it is time to take a deep dive into my goals, meditate on my current achievements as well as what direction I hope to head towards over the next six months. I am looking forward to what July has to offer.

My July Bullet Journal Setup

Bullet Journal Facebook Group

July is a time of reflection, meditation, and redirection. This is the month where I start a new with my goals and figure out what is really working for me and what isn’t. What am I spending time on that is helping me and where am I wasting time with little or no reward? These are questions I have asked myself.

Completing reflection prompts according to the phases of the moon worked out well for the month of June. It helped to keep my goals in mind, and to keep my focus where it needed to be. I plan on continuing with that into July.

July’s Bujo Spread Ideas:

  • Monthly With Goals
  • Blog Lovin
  • 4th of July
  • 16th Wedding Anniversary
  • Weekly With Goals
  • Mid-Month Review
  • End of Month Review
  • First Quarter Action Plan
  • Waxing Crescent Strength
  • Waxing Gibbous Trust
  • Third Quarter Release
  • Waning Crescent Rest
  • New Moon Beginningg
  • Garden Plans
  • Level 10 Life Review

These are just some of the spreads I would like to do for July’s Bujo. Also, instead of making out the entire month ahead of time—like I do with my work bujo— I plan on working on my bujo each weekend. I wanted to do Pandas and Butterflies, but as I was creating my first week’s page, I realized I have been using the drawings as a way of being creative but they are not actually helping me to achieve my goals. Yes, I will draw if I feel like being creative, however I am not going to push myself to have a drawing integrated on every page.
