Title of Book: Crystal Crowned (Air Awakens Series Book 5)
Author: Elise Kova
Main Character(s): Vhalla Yarl and Prince Aldrik
First Published: October 2016
Pages: 440
First Sentence: “Frigid air clawed its way under the pelts piled atop Vhalla Yarl, hunting out her warmth to herd it away only as winter could.”
Last Sentence: “She did not say it aloud, but she already looked forward to meeting the children of fire and wind.”
True love trumps all….including an overbearing evil water mage with an over sized ego!!!!
Story Line Overview:
All pretense is gone between Vhalla and Aldrik (FINALLY!). No one and nothing is going to stop them from being together. Vhalla with her rag tag team of warrior-adventurers vow to put an end to the evil threatening all the people of the Solaris empire.
After an unsuspected sacrificial offering, Vhalla regains her wind walker abilities. Her and Aldrik have to face some hard circumstances but together they figure out how to pull through.
Crystal monsters are threatening everyone and everything. Vhalla and Aldrik have to hack their way through the mess in order to set right the empire that has been turned upside down.
My review:
Kova didn’t dissapoint. This was a great way to end the Yarl saga. I kept finding myself wanting to know more…to read more, but alas the story must end.
Overall, I would give this novel 5 out of 5 stars. Two thumbs up!
I would recommend this story to anyone who loves A Court of Thorns and Roses, The Lux Series, and The Sanctorian Series.
