November Reboot

I’m back! After a loooonnnnggggg time without a typed word, I am finally starting to get my life back.

Where have I been? WORKING. Life at work has turned upside down and inside out. But it is slowly getting better.

A lot of changes have occurred in a very short period of time but it has finally started to level out. So, what have I been up to these last few months????

If you did not know, I am the retail manager for the food and nutrition department at our local hospital system. You can check out my story by clicking here. During my absence from blogging, I have focused solely on work—resetting all of our programs and retraining my team. My goal is for our unit to become a CFE (Center for Excellence). Over the past few months, although I have worked countless hours and burned the midnight oil more often than not, I have rediscovered my passion for work. It has been a very long time since I have felt great joy in the work that I do.

Family Life

For a mental break, my youngest and I hiked the trail up to the top of table rock. It took us 4 hours to scale the mountain side but we finally reached the peak. It was the first time Bradley had gone on a hike of that extent. Altogether, the trail is nearly 8 miles. There are points on the trail where you have to scale the rock face in order to find the next trail marker.

I enrolled for next year’s benefits and scheduled an appointment to speak with a health coach. Through my company’s benefit program, I am able to receive free health screenings and personalized coaching. I had my labs done this week. Good news—I’m healthier than I thought.

I only have 10 pounds to lose in order to reach my goal weight and all of my blood work came back positive. Next, I need to schedule an actual doctor’s appointment for a wellness check up. I haven’t been to the doctor in years so I’m a little anxious.

Bullet Journal Life

I am still using my bullet journal, although I have used my work journal moreso than my personal journal. It is the middle of November and I am just now able to sit and create my November spread.

For the time being, I feel easy goals are best. After working for a month and a half with only 1 day off (where I didn’t check emails or work on any paperwork), I am finally on vacation!!!

Over the next week, I hope to pull myself together, get back to my spiritual roots, find the author hiding within me, and reboot my life. There will always be work to do, but sometimes a girl just needs to relax.

Until next time……..
