After much trial and error, I have come up with a few main strategies that will help you increase your traffic.

Content, Content, Content
Who wants to read about something they aren’t interested in? I know I don’t. The reason why someone visits your blog is that they want to learn something from you.
What is it you are offering on your blog? The easiest way to get frequent flyers to your blog is to provide valuable information that is both relevant and concise.
There are millions of people on the net each day. Someone out there needs advice and can learn from your experiences.
It doesn’t matter whether you blog for fun or for profit, offering content that is both free and full of valuable information is the best thing you can do for your blog.
Focus on Quality, Not Amount
I used to post once every three days. Instead of counting the posts I am publishing, I decided to change strategies and post once per week. After posting, my focus shifts to marketing.
I put hours and hours into my post, but I am only a small pebble at the bottom of the lake.
I want to increase my traffic! The best way to do that is to market the hell out of my hard work.
Know What Your Audience Wants
Know your audience and write content they are looking for. Out of the millions of people surfing the net, how many are looking for what you are writing about?
Do your research and write about the questions your audience is asking. Help them to solve their problem and they will be back again and again.
SEO & Keywords
Optimize your posts for SEO. SEO is like a slow burn. You don’t start getting a lot of traffic right off the bat, but with time the amount of traffic you get from search results will increase.
Do your research ahead of time and use keywords throughout your posts. Putting them in the headings and even the title of your posts is also helpful in driving attention to your work.
What are the pros of good SEO practices?
For one, it gets your brand discovered. That’s right. Your Brand. The thing you have been working hard to establish ever since the day you decided to start a blog.
Once you get used to SEO, it becomes quick and simple. What was once tedious and time-consuming becomes a habit.
What should you do to optimize your SEO strategy?
Step #1: Optimize your images
Provide ALT-tags for every image you attach to your blog or website. ALT-tags are descriptions of your images on your webpage. Keep the ALT-tag short and to the point. Use your keywords as much as possible and be descriptive.
Name your image file. Do not name the file name the same as the ALT-tag. Think of them as keywords. You want to tie as many keywords as possible to your image to increase discoverability.
Step #2: Choose Your Keywords Wisely
Use your keywords as part of your title or subtitle. Choose keywords that have a high search volume. There are free tools out there you can use to help choose your keywords.
Personally, I tend to go to google and choose my keywords based off of what pops up when I start to search for what I am blogging about.
Sharing Is Caring
Make it easy for your audience to share your work. Have social sharing buttons available at the beginning and at the end of your post. Floating sharing buttons are also a great way to get your audience to share your work.
Learn Pinterest
Pinterest is easy to use and a great way to get traffic. I signed up for Tailwind a while back, and my traffic instantly increased by more than half. That’s saying something.

Comment On The Blogs You Read
You wouldn’t think this would help, but leaving comments on others’ blog posts is a great way to direct traffic to your own blog.
Not only that, you will meet like-minded people and start to build your network of “coworkers”.
Join Facebook Groups That Are Relevant To Your Niche
Where do you think your audience is? They are all over social media. One of the easiest ways to direct your audience straight to your blog is to converse with them regularly through Facebook.
I get about a third of my traffic from Facebook. I don’t have to spend a ton of time online each day to keep up with the conversation in the groups that I am a part of.
If you create your own group, make sure to add a link it in your post.
Try Different Strategies
Experimenting and learning new ways to develop your skills should always be at the forefront of your mind.
There will always be something more for you to learn. Never stop learning or seeking new methods to reach your goals.
