Life is all about choice. You can choose to continue living the way you are or you can choose to change your life to live the way you want to live.
Too often, people are ensnared by the status quo. They start to believe that it is alright to settle with the cards you have been dealt rather than trading them in for a new hand.
I hope you are not one of those people.
If you are reading this, that means that you are interested in improving your life through personal self-development and increased self-awareness.
Or maybe you have stumbled across this article and continue to read because you are perusing the internet, wasting time, and filling the void of boredom in your life.
Whichever the case, I hope you will perk up, PAY ATTENTION, and discover a new method of living through intentional planning and consistent action.
Let’s begin…

I’m not going to go into the psychology behind the human need for personal development. That would be a whole other article (maybe I’ll divulge later). If you want to find out about the psychology behind human nature and personal improvement, google “Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs”. For now, let’s keep it simple.
What Is A Personal Development Plan?
A personal development plan is a way you can grow as a person through education, social status, financial health, etc.
There are many different places within your life that you can improve upon. Click here to go into a few of them in detail.
Why Do You Need A Personal Development Plan?
If you are happy with the life you have and don’t want to change a thing, then a personal development plan is not right for you.
However, if you are like the other millions of people out there who feel that they were meant for something more than what they currently are, then keep reading. This post was meant for you.
No one’s life is perfect unless you’re Bill Gates (but I bet he has his stressors too!)
We are all given the same amount of time in a day.
1,440 minutes
You have the same number of minutes in a day as I do, or as Oprah Winfrey, Ellen Degeneres, Michelle Obama, and everyone else who has already reached their success.
So why aren’t you as successful as others.
It could be that you haven’t found your calling or that you haven’t figured out how to focus on your interests and turn them into your career.
Whatever the case, each day is a new day to make a difference.
You can continue to sit here and read this post (which I hope you do because let’s face it, this is my calling and I put a lot of hard into this for you to read) or you can start working on improving yourself and finding what it is that you were meant to.
Action is the key to success.
Taking the first step isn’t the hardest part. The hardest part is taking each consecutive step afterward.
How Do You Start To Develop Your Own Plan?
There are different methods you can use to create your development plan.
For me, I find the bullet journal method is the easiest and most convenient way of tracking and planning my time.

If you don’t know what a bullet journal is, >> (opens in a new tab)”>click here>>>
The bullet journal method is a book written by Ryder Carroll. The theme behind the book is to live intentionally. Check out a FREE preview below.
Bullet journaling has changed my life forever. I wake up with a clarity of mind and a focus on my goals. Tasks are broken down throughout the week into manageable lists that I can execute without working myself into the dirt.

Developing yourself is a long, continuous process. It never ends. There is always something new to learn or some part of your life you will want to improve.
As I mentioned above, using a bullet journal has changed my life forever. Along with my bullet journal, I use the morning pages.

If you want to improve your life, start by setting up a daily routine. The first thing in the morning that you should do is reflect upon yourself and plan out your day.
