Pollen My Hated Friend

Pollen, my hated friend,

You’ve come to visit me once again.

Forever persistent,

You confine me indoors.

The bane of my existence,

Your awful yellow spores

If this were Hogwarts,

I’d wave my magic wand,

And in a flash

You would be gone.

You cause the ache in my head,

And tears to fall from my eyes.

You fill me with dread

As spring draws nigh.

Flying through the air unseen,

You turn my car a yellowish-green.

Persistent to a fault,

Our unrelenting battle.

Never a victor to be named,

Only you, my friend, are to blame.

Pollen, my hated friend,

I do so love when you leave.

Autumn will soon come,

And bring with it sweet relief.
